Video: Families of the United Kingdom (Families of the World Series) - Rural - T - Interesting Items Found in Old Barns
| Video: Families of the United Kingdom (Families of the World Series) - Rural - T Jessica, age 9, lives with her parents, grandmother and two sisters on a large dairy farm in western England. Prince Charles once made a visit there because he owns some of the land where the cows graze. Jessica's school field trip to the beach is shown, and she and her sisters marvel at the two-week old chicks in their barn. Part of their house is 400 years old, but the family enjoys many modern conveniences. In the Award Winning Families of the World Series, viewers get a peek at the everyday lives of two families - usually an urban and a rural family. We are introduced to a child who helps narrate his or her activities. The footage is fantastic - intimate but not intrusive. Lots of interesting facts about the country are presented from a realistic viewpoint which brings other cultures up close. | Wow! This is really amazing. I love this video. I like listening to Jessica s she narrates their way of life. I think that having a barn is cool if there are lots of cows that you milk every morning. This is the way of life in England. They have their own stories to tell, just like us. They enjoy their simple lives, and they nurture everything that they have. Have a great day and good job Jessica! |
It would be great to have a barn with lots of cows and a house with traditional exteriors but modern interiors for a vacation house. You can relax and get fresh milk when you're there on weekends. Jessica is such a bright girl because she can already narrate their life even if she's only 9 years old. Her parents and other family members must be very proud of her. Did she see Prince Charles when he visited their place?
I grew up on a farm and then moved to Tokyo in my early twenties. Since I have started a family in Tokyo, which is the biggest metropolis in the world. Seeing the difference in kids here vs. in the country is staggering. Even thought the country kids might not be as up to date on the latest gadgets and trends, country kids have instilled in them a work ethic (perhaps not so much a study ethic) that they carry with them for teh rest of their lives.
I agree that it is really fun to have your own barn as you look after and raise your horses and cows. We have a lot of ways on how to keep the barn neat and clean. In the countryside, we also have our own barn and it include several things needed for raising animals as well as their food. I just help my grandfather cleaning the place and I am enjoying a lot.
When I was just a kid I have this favorite cow in my grandfather's farm. I would go in the barn as they milk her. I love to stay in that place. And not that we are to go back home, I am very much excited to see that old barn that I used to play at with my brother and our grandfather. I really hope to find the same old barn.
