| Not only do I love old barns, but I also have a penchant for old, old mills (grist, fulling, plaster, ect.) that are or were once water powered, either by turbine or water wheel. These old buildings can be made of stone, wood, or brick. I, particularly, enjoy "drawing entire ancient villages accompanied by elements of terrain such as hills, roads, houses, kilns, churches, privies, shops, and covered bridges, if they were originally on site. Add People doing things and animals pulling wagons, surreys, and doing the chores of a milling village ect. This wonderful mixture makes them come alive. By the year 2000, we ushered in the newest advance called "Living Scenes A Century or Two Ago, " which drew myriads of new followers to my door. Then in early 2009, my wife and I started our newest adventure: learning how to watercolor. Sandy has a flair for doing portraits and I really enjoy the bird world as well as antigue cars, old WWII aircraft, and anything of historical nature. From the get-go, we have been making notecards, signed and numbered prints of our works. And, by-the-way, I believe that my wife and I may be the only combinational art team...in the United States of America. This means, we both work on an art piece, at different times, so we can get twice as much work accomplished. Together, we share the reward. |
