What are some of the uses of barnwood?

It has been described to rustic yet charming, sturdy yet rough. Nonetheless, rustic barnwood furniture has been said to bring the feel 19th century farm life into the living and dining rooms.

It was originally created for necessity in a time when furniture craftsmen were limited to whatever materials were at hand.

Today's barnwood furniture is however constructed from real or simulated pine, oak or cedar planks, recovered from dissembled, weathered barns.
