What is the most exciting use you have used for your old barn? Did you renovate one to make it your main home? What can you use an old barn for? Workshops, car storage, tobacco crop, ...how about even for its original purpose, perhaps to house cows or horses?

Another video similar to an earlier one I wrote: Scattered on the ground. I found this place when I was doing the Country Road video and had to write a song for it. I didn't get busted for tresspassing, but I did pick up a stowaway woodtick my wife found on my jacket. (Yikes!) I had another version of this where the harp matched better at the beginning, but I went with this one since the words matched better. Lyrics: BOARDED UP OLD WINDOWS AND BROKEN DOWN OLD STAIRS. AN OLD DRIVEWAY THAT NO ONE USES NOW. BIG OLD EMPTY SILO AND A BIG OLD EMPTY BARN POULTRY, CORN AND LIVESTOCK LONG SINCE GONE. REMAINS OF SOMEONES YESTERDAY, WHEN THIS LAND STILL HAD SOME LIFE. BEFORE IT WAS THE SHELL IT IS TODAY. THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME CHILDREN, A HUSBAND AND A WIFE. BEFORE THE COLD HARD WINDS OF TIME.... CHASED THEM ALL AWAY. I WONDER WHAT THE STORY WAS WITH THE PASSING OF THE YEARS. BACK WHEN THIS OLD HOUSE WAS STILL A HOME. THE LOVE AND HOPE AND LAUGHTER, THE SADNESS AND THE TEARS HAVE GONE AND LEFT THIS OLD PLACE ALL ALONE. DO THE VOICES OF THE SPIRITS STILL ECHO THROUGH THESE WALLS, OR ONLY DOES THE SILENCE STILL REMAIN. ON LAND THAT WAS SO GENEROUS, NOW SADLY LEFT BEHIND. AN ABANDENED SLICE OF COUNTRYSIDE.... THAT NO ONE WANTS TO CLAIM. JUST CALL IT A SAD STORY, OR JUST AN AWFUL SHAME, OF WHAT IT HAS BECOME SINCE IT WAS NEW. IT'S SAD TO THINK NOBODY HANGS THEIR HAT HERE ANYMORE, OR JUST A SAD REMINDER...... WE'RE ALL JUST PASSING THROUGH.

The lyrics of the song Remains are very meaningful. It depicts to the place that seems to be empty now. I think people must know how to reuse those abandoned land in the countryside. They are very useful for many purposes like breeding animals and growing plants. In my place, people most especially farmers in the countryside are very creative in propagating their land. They benefit from it very much.
