Video: Vermont Barn Census The Vermont Barn Census — a statewide, volunteer effort to take stock of the number, type and condition of all the historic barns in Vermont — is a project of the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, the UVM Historic Preservation Program, Historic Windsor's Preservation Education Institute, Save Vermont Barns, Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, and Preservation Trust of Vermont. Listen to historic preservation graduate student and project intern Michael Plummer talk about the effort — and see photos volunteers have submitted — in this audio slideshow.
Conducting this census of all historic barns in Vermont is definitely the best way of preserving the legacy and history of this place. All the efforts of those who worked together to make this project a success should be commended for this noble act. It is not easy to come up with a full account of historic landmarks. I'm sure that doing this survey of old barns in Vermont was a challenge but with their cooperation, they were able to finish it.
Thanks for sharing the video. It simply shows how Vermont pay great importance to the various kinds of barns in there both old and new as part of their history. They were still able to preserve those barns which can still be useful for future purposes. So I think it is quite impressing to know that they do the census for all the old barns in Vermont. Great day.
